If you’re familiar with the phrase “hurry up and wait”, you’ll get an idea what it’s like being the Fulfillment Department for Axanar Productions.
After pushing (and by “pushing” I mean alternately cajoling, begging, and [practically] threatening certain people within inches of their lives) for the PRELUDE to AXANAR Blu-ray/DVD content to be completed for the last several months, the finished product was finally delivered in early July (hallelujah!), and was immediately shipped off to the print production facility we use… at which point they told me to expect, as always, approximately a three-week window before our order would be ready to go.
Hmm. Pessimist that I am–when it comes to things being delivered “on time”–I planned on four weeks.
So, just over four weeks later, what do I find out? Those PRELUDE discs we’ve all been waiting for–some, more patiently than others 😉 –are finally shipping out from the factory. Today.
Which means the shipment of PRELUDE to AXANAR–full kits to international donors whose packages included a DVD or Blu-ray, and to retroactive package donors (whose purchases occurred long after the original Kickstarter, and are shipping in-total), and discs-only packages to those in the US who donated at levels including DVD/Blu-ray (the rest of whose items shipped long ago)–should commence late next week.
Believe me, I know it’s a long time in coming… but this is VERY good news, indeed. 🙂

Way to stick to it! You never let them off the hook, and for that those donors that have been (as you say, some patiently, some, not so much…) waiting for their DVD/Bule-ray packages can now put a big smile on their faces with the thought of “x-mas in September” on their minds and in their dreams. 🙂

No, Jeff, it does not mean your Blu-ray is in the mail to you right now; it does, however, mean that several thousand Blu-rays (and DVDs) are in a freight truck at this very moment, on their way across the U.S. to *me*.
As soon as they arrive here, and have been unloaded, I will begin shipping them out as promised (and explained many, many times), first to all of the International PRELUDE to AXANAR donors, then to the stateside PRELUDE donors, and finally, to the retroactive PRELUDE package donors. 🙂
