Okay, it seems–despite our best efforts to ALWAYS keep everyone in the loop about everything–that there is some mass confusion swirling about over a couple of patches.
So, here we go one more time… 🙂
*NO patches from the AXANAR Kickstarter have shipped out yet! (As soon as our tech specialist, Terry MacIntosh, gives the all-clear, the donors whose donation levels included patches will start receiving them.)
The official First, Second, and Third Fleet patches have been available in the Donors-Only “Store”, for set donation amounts, for a couple of months, so that any donor who wants to can get an extra, as well as so those donors who missed out on this campaign and only contributed to a later campaign can still collect all of the ship patches. (The same holds true for the three PRELUDE to AXANAR patches, which are also available to all donors in the “Store”.)
*NO patches from the AXANAR Indiegogo have shipped out… and in fact, have not even been made, yet!
So, where on earth does all the confusion over these come in? Well, we had two of the ship patches from that campaign–ones for the Ajax and Hercules–designed, and then had a small batch of prototypes made, so that we could make sure those designs would work well on camera. The prototypes came in as a “sample” size, however… meaning they are about 20-30% SMALLER than the final, official patches, when we eventually have them produced (both for filming and for rewards perks), will be.
But, rather than let the small number of sample-size Ajax and Hercules patches simply go to waste after we had checked them out, we decided to offer them to our donors, in the “Store” (and for a reduced price, less than the donation amount for all of our official, standard-size patches).
So, to reiterate:
Official AXANAR Kickstarter patches will hopefully begin shipping to donors from that campaign very soon.
Official AXANAR Indiegogo patches have not yet been manufactured, and will thus not be shipping to donors from that campaign for awhile, still.
And there you go… the definitive word on patches! 🙂
