Fan Stories V2

Today we hear from Michael Suiter:

I’ve been a Trekkie my entire life. I first got into Star Trek in the 60s with the original series. Mom watched it so I did too. I used to draw the profile of the Enterprise and my own floor plans. It was the start of my love for sci-fi and space, and some of my earliest drawings.

Over the past few years I’ve become engrossed in all the TOS era web series to get my fix. But then I saw concept art depicting the USS Ares floating around on Facebook, which led to the Kickstarter page for Axanar. It was like I fell in love with Star Trek all over again. The ship designs from that era, the premise for the movie, all of it.

Then I watched Prelude to Axanar and thats all she wrote. Hook line and sinker. A quality production by true fans of the world of Star Trek. Everything was fresh and new , while still retaining the TOS feel, which is my favorite era.

I could see, hear and feel the love of Star Trek by watching Prelude to Axanar and hearing the team of Axanar talk about it. That’s very important. They believe in what they are doing and they love it because they are fans too.

I’ve always been fascinated with space. The universe and all its mysteries and beauty. I enjoy painting spacescapes and I had this insatiable desire to create some art combining my spacescapes and the Axanar world of Star Trek. Combining two of my loves, I figured I couldn’t go wrong with that. So I did, and I’m planning on doing more. Our galaxy and the universe, are both very very large and are filled with lots of adventures.
