The big news today was that the Wide Screen Film Festival awarded Alec Bornstein’s score to “Prelude to Axanar” as Best Score at their hot new film festival. And now they are adding a Best Visual Effects category because of us as well!
Today was a busy day at the studio as work has begun covering over the loading dock so we have more floor space. Dean Newberry, our trusty construction guru, is hard at work.
We also had the first budgeting meeting with Mike DeMerritt, the long time Star Trek: Voyager and Enterprise 1st AD who is serving as our Line Producer. I can tell you Mike is AMAZING and his breadth of knowledge is what will keep Axanar as a truly professional production. I also met our new DP Doug Knapp for the first time. A veteran of Star Trek Voyager and Star Trek Enterprise, Doug was the DP for the legendary Sci Fi film Dark Star!
