Buying a car with Kickstarter funds?  Well, that is what a certain unscrupulous fan film producer said Axanar has done.  Which everyone who knows us laughs at since I am driving the same car I bought in 2008.

But see that 2001 Lotus Turbo Esprit above?  Yeah, that was mine.  I bought it in 2004 and sold it last year because money was tight and I needed to make sure I had enough money for Prelude to Axanar.

And if I have to sell my entire Star Trek prop & costume collection to make Axanar, I will.

Meanwhile, Rob and I recorded two more podcasts tonight.  Working our buts off to get the word out!

I don’t see how anyone can doubt your dedication to this project. I’ve sat with you and worked a convention to help promote Axanar. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather work with or for. Thank you for Axanar as it’s the finest example of independent film making we’ve ever seen. Happiness and long life to you!

  • BL says:

So you’re not getting rich off Axanar?
    Oh, wait…

  • Scott Jordan says:

Alec, you are a champion of Star Trek for all of us.

You sticking to the prime directives of the Axanar universe (honesty, accountability, dedication to the fans) galvanizes and unites us in ways we wouldn’t have otherwise been.

These petaQ’s will hate, but they cannot tear down the integrity that you (and the rest of the Axanar team) have built.

We stand as one crew behind you…

    ..Heading captain?

  • John says:

Yes we do stand as one crew behind you and Rob, and the wizardess of fulfilment!!!! BUT PEOPLE WE NEED MORE $$$ OR IT IS FOR NOT!!!! I.ve given too all three kicksatrters ,(ineigogo) and each time at the hundred or higher level, we all need to up the bank! I’m seeing $1 donations, that just ant going to get it done!

    • Yep, I just saw a $1 donation, too (went from $321,889 to $321,890). I started thinking “WTF?” But then I realized the significance of such a gesture. That donor isn’t going to get anything–no patches, no digital download, no listing of his/her name on the donor page, not even a lousy copy of our home game! And yet, he/she still made the effort to go through the process and give something. And I’m guessing that this donor isn’t exactly diving into a pile of money like Uncle Scrooge MacDuck. So while I’d love to see more 3-digit and 4-digit (and 5-digit!) donors, too, let’s respect the 1-digit donors, too.

      • John says:

Yes YOU ARE 100% in the right!! It’s just my frustration at how slow it’s going. To all the $1 and $5 donors THANX ! John B

Makes me wonder if anybody in the 1 % ers are Star Trek fans or have a family member that is a Star Trek fan? What kind of an incentive would appeal to them to donate to the cause? A $1,000.000 dinner date with Alec Peters & a few other stars of the movie with a tour of the set to see the progress, ending with a take home autographed photon torpedo by the cast & crew? (-:

Of course, I would think it would be pocket change for them, but then you never know how many may actually donate just to impress their children that may be excited about Star Trek: Axanar. But then, do you have a photon torpedo for signing by the cast & crew or something else they can have a “blast” over? Pun included.

Just throwing an idea out there or is it wrong to do a more direct solicitations to fast forward the cause?

I would like to hear about some of the 1.00 donors, there are probably a lot of very personal stories there. I am sure some folks are barely scraping by, and to donate to Axanar is significant. While it is not a big jump. 200K of 1.00 is almost an episode. What is the Vulcan saying: “Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations”? If I ever hit the Lotto, Ares Studios is in my bucket list. But Alec, you have presented yourself as a man of great integrity and honor, I would never entertain such a nasty rumor, you have handled it very well.

I’m a big Star Trek fan I love the movies and have the eaglemoss collection. Had to stop that because of money being tight. I donated 65$ and would like to have donated more. But at the time that was all I could spare. The little guys that can’t afford to donate 3 digit or more are still just as big a fans as most of you are. Even the 1$ fans. Just some of us are not as well off as others.
I can’t wait to get my Axanar rewards.
    Thanks for keeping Startrek alive
